Standard Balance Sheet

Report Structure

The Standard Balance Sheet in Factview provides insight into an organization's financial position at a specific point in time.

The balance sheet consists of two main sections:

  • Assets: The organization's assets.

  • Liabilities and Equity: The organization's equity and liabilities.

Within these sections, the balance sheet is organized hierarchically. This means that:

  • Accounts are grouped into logical categories.

  • Totals are calculated automatically.

  • Underlying details are available for each group.

The layout of the balance sheet is based on the underlying Report Structure, where General Ledger Accounts are mapped to the appropriate balance sheet items.

Drilling Down into Details

You can drill down into the figures displayed in the balance sheet.

This allows you to:

  • View the underlying General Ledger Accounts.

  • See how a balance is composed.

  • Analyze details for each balance sheet item.

This makes it easy to gain insight into items such as:

  • Outstanding receivables.

  • Liabilities.

  • Cash and cash equivalents.

The balance sheet is therefore not only a financial overview but also a powerful tool for validating and analyzing the underlying figures.

TIP

In the **Structureviews** menu, open **Category Colors** to display the **Balance Sheet** using clear, color-coded sections. This provides a more intuitive overview and makes it easier to distinguish the different parts of the balance sheet.
